I am a lighting designer and photographer.

Playing with visibility, structure, and mood in photography is similar to designing for the stage.

Varying lighting levels and direction will make an actor appear more prevalent or not, which focuses the audience's attention.

Adding or subtracting color will change the mood. Patterns of light will suggest a structure or an environment offstage, out of the frame.

Live productions are collaborative efforts. Photography is most often a singular effort and you are my audience.
